Trailers for Sale Near Worcester, MA
Introduction
Worcester buyers can reach us without leaving the interstate for long. From downtown Worcester, take I-290 to I-395 South. Follow it through Auburn, Oxford and Webster into Connecticut, about 38 miles on I-395, to the Plainfield exit at Lathrop Road, then Route 12 south about 3 miles to 12 Plainfield Rd in Canterbury. The OSRM route planner puts the whole drive at about 48 miles and roughly 58 minutes. Towing home will take longer.
Why Worcester-area buyers make the drive
Two prices on every trailer. Each unit page shows a credit card price and a cash or check price, so you can compare before you leave home. Prices live on the inventory pages, not here.
Financing that doesn't stop at an SSN. You can finance with a Social Security Number, an ITIN (no SSN needed; proof of residence required), or a business EIN. Lease-to-own, C3 rent-to-own, and your own bank or credit union are options too. The lender decides approval.
Contractor-ready stock. Most of our enclosed cargo trailers are J&C Suppliers units from 6x12 up to 8.5x24, plus more enclosed listings. We also carry Lamar and Hillcrest dump trailers (Hillcrest dumps) and Hillcrest car haulers.
Crews that work year-round. Landscapers who switch to snow work often keep blowers, shovels and bagged salt dry in an enclosed trailer. If you head north to ride, we currently list a Lightning 8x11 snowmobile trailer.
Registering a trailer in Massachusetts
We're a Connecticut dealer, so Massachusetts residents handle registration through the RMV, much like buying from any out-of-state dealer. Based on Mass.gov:
Start with your insurance agent. For an out-of-state dealer purchase, a licensed Massachusetts insurance agent completes, stamps and signs your Registration and Title Application (RTA). You bring it to an RMV Service Center with the manufacturer's Certificate of Origin for a new trailer (Mass.gov).
Title over 3,000 lbs. Trailers over 3,000 lbs must be titled within 10 days of purchase. Trailers at 3,000 lbs or less don't get a title but still must be registered (Mass.gov). Some of our single-axle 6x12 enclosed trailers are listed at 2,990 lbs GVWR, so check the unit page.
Sales tax goes to Massachusetts, not Connecticut. We don't charge Connecticut sales tax to Massachusetts buyers. You pay Massachusetts sales or use tax when you register the trailer with the RMV. Mass.gov lists the rate as 6.25%, filed within 10 days for trailers that must be registered or titled in Massachusetts (Mass.gov). Financing buyers: ask us how registration and tax are handled.
No temporary plates. The RMV says it does not issue temporary registration plates. If you already have a registered trailer of the same type and you've disposed of it, Massachusetts allows a 7-day plate-transfer grace period (Mass.gov). Otherwise, plan your registration before pickup, or have us deliver.
Holding a trailer
To lock in a unit before you make the trip, you can reserve it online with a $200 deposit. That holds the trailer for one week. The deposit is non-refundable, but it can be transferred to another trailer purchase, and the balance is paid at the dealership. All trailer sales are final (shipping, returns and payment policy), so ask your questions before you buy.
